Everyone knows his picture of American servicemen raising the flag atop Mt. Suribachi. Now a group of Bay Area veterans is petitioning the Navy Secretary to name a ship for photographer Joe Rosenthal. Joe worked alongside the Marines and sailors on Iwo Jima and three other Pacific islands, with only his camera for protection. Help honor Joe and keep the alive the memory of our veterans and current armed forces personnel. Sign the petition at www.USSJoe.org The name Joe Rosenthal deserves to sail with our other great Navy ships.
