Looking for shipmates from 1970-71 who served on the USS Iwo Jima LPH-2. from DANNY ROSS OGLE on October 29, 2011 at 15:57:51

Email: DANNY ROSS OGLE

Dear Sirs: I am looking for former shipates whom I would have served with in 1970-1971 on the USS Iwo Jima LPH-2. I am trying to locate shipmates and/or records of our R & R at China Beach from Jan through May of 1971. I am trying to prove that I was Baptized at China Beach. I need to find this information because I am a diabetic and I am claiming contact with Agent Orange. I served as gunner and never stepped actual foot on Vietnam soil except for when I was Baptized. I also need to know also if there are any ship records of my baptism, and perhaps how to go about locating these. The reason I am filing this under agent orange is that the wounded soldiers, as well as our soldiers who were killed in action were brought to our ship and I had to help handle them, send to hospital or morgue after I took off their ammunition, etc. Any help anyone can give me would be most appreciated. Sincerely, Danny Ross Ogle
