For the record, Gary M. Begnoche died on January 7, 2010 at New Cambria, Kansas. Gary served onboard the USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2) from 1970 to 1972. Gary's rank was LTJG when he was honorably discharged in San Diego, 1972 while the ship was in dry dock at Long Beach, California.
